Golden Beach Resort on Riyue Bay, a nice choice along the east coast beach of Hainan Island: cheap on empty beach, best surfing choice

Location: Riyue Bay Xilong, 1.5 hours from Sanya Airport, 1.5 hours from Haikou Airport. To reach Golden Beach Resort, please take bus from Sanya to Wanning, or Xinglong, then get off at the Riyue Bay Exit.

Caddie's Review after personal visit:

Golden Beach Resort is a nice 3 star standard hotel on Riyue bay which is the best beach for surfing winter time (September till March). Golden Beach is just 3 minutes walking to the empty beach Riyue Bay. There is a nice swimming pool, restaurant (no English menu), internet service in the lobby.

If you are looking for quite beach away from Sanya, Golden Beach Resort is a good choice. The Golden Beach Resort receives tour groups, but most of them arrive late in the afternoon and leave the next morning right after breakfast. So during the day, it is really quite and empty in the hotel.

Just steps away from the hotel, there is a local restaurant where you could order local food and good seafood. They do have an English menu. The restaurant also hosts surfing, surfing coach and paddle rental.
