Xinglong Old Banya Hotel: super new 4 star with hot springs

Caddie got to know about Xinglong Old Banyan Hotel from a friend of her who works in a local travel agency. So Caddie and her family decided to have a check, but they stayed one night instead of just inspection tour. Most hotels in Xinglong only have group business, so in Caddie's mind, they always smells bad, not very maintained as all groups only stay for one night. As a new hotel, Old Banyan Hotel Tree is total different, the room is very clean and fresh with high quality lines and towels. The super sized pillow in green is nice to lean against for TV. Like most hotels in Xinglong, Old Banyan Tree is busy with groups too, but Caddie still met many families from Haikou, the capital of Hainan Island for weekend with small kids. The Old Banyan promotes herself to local agencies as 5 star standard hotel, but in Caddie's mind, it is only better than a local 4 star hotel in terms of hardware. Hard to say about the soft ware as Caddie and her family only stayed for one night, but the extra pillow Caddie asked never came until they left the next morning. So don't expect too much as most hotels are used to work with groups. 

It is a hot spring resort, but except the hot spring bath on the balcony, no big pools outdoor free of charge. The Old Banyan Hotel has a separate hot spring & spa outlet which costs RMB128/person, that's why Caddie's daughter Miaomiao deducted her rate from 90 to 50. But the indoor kid club is an extra benefit during raining or chilly weather.

Old Banyan Hotel is one of the few 2 resorts in Xinglong which offer buffet western breakfast. It is ok for the price Caddie paid: milk (seems with more water), juice, local coffee, toast, jam, butter, salad, eggs,  some vegetables, breads.

So for a moderate holiday or over night stay in a clean, fresh hotel with nice views, good sleeping quality, swimming pools and a good enough western breakfast, Old Banyan Hotel is the only choice in Xing Long after Kangle Garden Hotel
