There are four good places where you could enjoy most of the activities-Yalong Bay, Dadonghai, Wuzhizhou Islet and West Islet.

All the activities in Yalong Bay are organized by the same company, so the prices are more or less the same in different hotels. Wuzhizhou Island is another good choice for water sports if you could speak a little bit Chinese. But if you don't know Chinese, then it is a little bit difficult as most of the staff can't understand what you want. Also it takes around 30 minutes from Yalong Bay, 50 minutes from Dadonghai and 60 minutes from Sanya Bay to get there. You also have to pay for the ferry to go onto the Islet. So the time and the cost will be almost the same as in Yalong Bay. So I still suggest Yalong Bay for water sports in Sanya if you just want to experience some of the items.

Wuzhizhou Islet is also a very popular water sports center for tour groups to Sanya Hainan Island. So it will be very crowded during high season. You can't have enough time to enjoy the services and facilities. But if you come with your own equipments and stay over night on the islet, then it is a paradise for water sports.

West Islet is similar to Wuzhizhou Islet located in the west of Sanya, around 30 minutes from Yalong Bay, 20 minutes from Dadonghai and 10 minutes from Sanya Bay. It is also very popular places for tour groups. Still I feel it is not a good idea to go there by taxi first, then ferry.

If you think the rates in Yalong Bay is over your budget and you would like to enjoy some water sports, then Dadonghai is better choice for an experience.
