Thanks to its selection as the host town for the forum, Boao, the population of just 9,000, grew from a fishing village so small that only a 4 years ago, foreign visitors had trouble finding it on the map of Hainan, not to say China. But now Boao , it is the Boao Asia Forum which turned Boao into an exhibition centre of Hainan Island after Sanya. It is one driving from Haikou Airport and two hours driving from Sanya.
