Sanya is located in the very south of Hainan Island consisting of 4 parts  from East to East:

Yalong Bay, Dadonghai Beach, Downtown Sanya and Sanya Bay.

Yalong Bay Sanya Hainan Island:

Yalongbay is the best beach area in Sanya where you will find all what you want:
Crystal-clear water, nice and white sand beach (not crowded at all) and the best beach resorts in China.

Situated about 25 km east of Sanya City, Yalong Bay centers on a crescent-shaped beach of about 7,000 m. The sea water is so clear that visibility can reach as deep as almost 8 Meters, making it the ideal location for scuba diving and snorkeling.

If you just want to lie on the beach, enjoy the crystal-clear water, sandy beach and resorts facilities, Yalong Bay is the best place to be. In Yalong Bay, every resort has private beach with umbrellas and beach chairs for resorts guests only. One thing is there are no local restaurants or super markets in Yalong Bay. You have to go by taxi which costs USD6-8/way or resorts shuttle bus to downtown Sanya if you wish to try special local dishes or take a walk in Downtown Sanya

With the finest facilities and ambience, the main beach resorts are sprayed out around Yalong Bay，including Sheraton Sanya Resort, Marriott Sanya Resort, Hilton Sanya Resort, Holiday Inn Yalong Bay Resort and domestic ones like Mangrove Tree Resort, Gloria Resort, Resort Horizon, Resort Golden Palm.  Dadonghai Beach Sanya Hainan Island

Located just 2 KM from Downtown Sanya, Dadonghai Beach is a combination of city life and beach leisure. Local restaurants, bars, shopping malls & supermarkets are just within walking distance from all the resorts and hotels .But if you just stay in one of the beach resorts, you will not feel the hustle and bustle of city life.

If you wish to take a walk after dinner or go for local restaurants, learn more about local life, Dadonghai Beach is a good choice. You will find hotels and resorts from the 5 star Resort Intime to the budget hotel Sanya Tomorrow Hotel. The Blue Sea Guest House is a good choice for family stay.

 It is easy to go from Dadonghai Beach to Downtown Sanya. The local bus just costs RMB1/person/way. You can easily get on or get off every five minutes. And you could also pay a visit to Yalong Bay. The Double Decker bus is the most inexpensive choice to go there costing RMB5/each way. It runs every 30 minutes from 7am to 7pm. It takes only 20 minutes from Dadonghai Beach to Sanya Airport, so leaving your hotel 90 minutes before your flight is enough.

Sanya Bay Sanya Hainan Island

Sanya Bay is a relatively undiscovered premier tropical destination, providing visitors with an irresistible combination of fine beach, quality swimming and diving, international resort. Situated about 8 km west to the suburbs of Sanya, Sanya Bay nestles along a most beautiful seaside road, immaculately clean and well kept.

With its easy access to Sanya International Airport (10 minutes), but away from the flight path, this superb location offers all possible creature comforts, and will serve to please the most discerning of visitors.

Located nearby are a few good money value resorts including Holiday Inn Sanya Bay. While enjoying peace, tranquility and privacy, unlike Yalong Bay, you will see more life of the local people.

And as Sanya Bay is not so popular as Yalong Bay, the Resorts in Sanya Bay offer good money value rates.

One thing should be mentioned: Unlike most of the resorts in Yalong Bay, You have to come across a road to the beach. But don't worry about the road, it is not a very busy one, so far no complains by guests who stayed there with small kids.  If you stay in Sanya Bay, stay with some hotels as far away from downtown Sanya as possible like Holiday Inn Sanya Bay. The beach near Downtown Sanya is getting muddy and dirty.
